Conferences on the application of the General Data Protection Regulation
On the 10th of April 2017, the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing’s representatives attended an event dedicated to the current rules for the processing of personal data and the novelties brought by the General Data Protection Regulation, organized by a law company.
The main changes brought by Regulation (EU) 2016/679, adopted by the European Parliament and the Council, applicable starting with the 25th of May 2018, were presented to the participants, who were mainly from the banking and IT sector.
This interactive event highlighted the special interest of the private sector to comply with the rules established by the new Regulation.
The reunion was preceded by the European Conference of the New Order in the data protection field, held on the 16th of March 2017 that received a wide presence of companies’ representatives from various sectors.
During the opening of the conference, the authority’s representatives brought to the attention of the participants the impact of the new European regulation and the implications on the observance of the rights of the data subjects.
The constant participations of our institution’s representatives to these events are part of the information campaign carried out by the authority with the aim of disseminating the new rules for the processing of personal data among the data controllers and the general public.
