On 2-3 December 2024, the European Data Protection Board Plenary (EDPB) took place, during which the following relevant documents were adopted in order to ensure an adequate application of the European Data Protection Regulation:

Guidelines 02/2024 on Article 48 of the GDPR, on public consultation until 27.01.2025
Statement 06/2024 on the second report on the application of the GDPR

Through this statement, the European Data Protection Board highlights that, in order to maintain a high level of protection in the context of accelerating complex challenges, it is necessary for the National Data Protection Authorities and the EDPB to have additional financial and human resources, as emphasised in the Report of the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA).
