By Decision no. 48 of 26^th of June 2013 Mrs. Ancuţa Gianina Opre was appointed as president of the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing.

We mention that Mrs. Ancuţa Gianina Opre is currently working as an associate professor at the Faculty of Juridical and Administrative Science, Dimitrie Cantemir Christian University of Bucharest. She has a professional experience of over ten years in the field of law, and in the past she held the position of president of the National Authority for Property Restitution (2009).

The appointment of Mrs. Ancuţa Gianina Opre comes as a result of the revocation, by the Romanian Senate Decision no. 45 of 25^th of June 2013 of Mrs. Georgeta Basarabescu, taking into account the conclusions of the report of the Legal Commission for appointments, discipline, immunities and validations no. XIX/89 of 7^th of June 2013, registered at the Permanent Bureau of the Senate under no. 846 of 11^th of June 2013, as well as the Permanent Bureau of the Senate’s Decision adopted during the session of 17^th of June 2013.
