On 16 January 2025, the EDPB Plenary was held on-line, during which the following relevant documents were adopted in order to ensure an appropriate application of the European Data Protection Regulation:

Guidelines 01/2025 on Pseudonymisation, on public consultation for six weeks;

These guidelines provide clarification that pseudonymised data, which could be attributed to a natural person by the use of additional information, remains information related to an identifiable natural person, and thus is personal data. Where the data can be linked to a natural person by the data controller or by another person, it remains personal data.
