The Bilateral Cooperation Protocol signed between the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing of Romania and the National Centre for Personal Data Protection of the Republic of Moldavia

 

On Thursday, the 4th of July 2013 at 11 o’clock, at NSAPDP’S headquarters in Bucharest, 28-30 Magheru Boulevard, 1st district, the president of the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing of Romania, Mrs. Ancuţa Gianina Opre, and the director of the National Centre for Personal Data Protection of the Republic of Moldavia, Mrs. Vitalie Paniş signed the Bilateral Cooperation Protocol between the two institutions.

The document stipulates as main activities the exchange of information and best practices on the implementation of European standards in the field of personal data protection and the development of certain joint studies or analyses that would focus on maintaining, in case of Romania, an adequate level of protection of personal data, and in the case of Republic of Moldavia, the recognition by the appropriate institutions of the European Union that the country provides an adequate level of protection of personal data.

The support for the Republic of Moldavia in implementing the European standards regarding the protection of personal data will contribute to the fulfillment of this country of the criteria negotiated with the European Union in this field.
